ELVIS PRESLEY'S PERSONALLY OWNED FAMOUS SHELBY COUNTY SPECIAL DEPUTY SHERIFF'S BADGE
Elvis had 10 diamonds and his initials EP added to the badge weeks later.
Jimmy Velvet's words.............
"On July 13, 1973 Elvis, his father Vernon and myself were presented with a 'Special Deputy of Shelby County badge in Memphis. The badges were all identical (the diamonds and EP initials were added to this badge at a later date). We were to have bonds recorded to protect the sheriff's office from anything we might do as Deputy's that could cause a lawsuit; Sheriff Roy "Skip" Nixon had to do the same as well. A couple of months later Vernon and i received our captain badge and Elvis received his Chief Deputy Badge".
Their is a image of Jimmy and Elvis on July 13 1973 when they were sworn in.
Accompanied by an Elvis Presley Museum certificate of authenticity hand signed by Jimmy Velvet who was Elvis' friend of twenty two years and the Founder and original President and CEO of the world famous Elvis Presley Museum all those years ago.
